- 1-day online event for students with disabilities and specific learning difficulties exploring post-secondary school options in education.
Better Options 2024 will take place online via Zoom from 10.00 - 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 165th with breaks throughout the day. Visit ahead.ie/better-options-2024 for more information or to register.
Attendees will learn about making the most of their time in college and access routes open to those with disabilities and specific learning difficulties such as apprenticeships and further education as well as options for students with intellectual disabilities, including how to make an application for DARE - Disability Access route to Education. Attendees will be able to ask questions both to speakers and to AHEAD’s Information Officer.

Many parents of students with dyslexia struggle to know how to support the student at second level as the challenges are different to those experienced at primary level. This webinar aims to give
practical help and advice. The topics addressed include:
How dyslexia affects the student at second level and how to support the student in the following areas

o Note-taking
o Memory and Learning
o Reading
o Writing
o Spelling and Vocabulary.
Key educational choices such as subject choice, language exemptions etc.
